Candy Cane – Ready for Christmas 2016
It might be too early for you to start thinking about Christmas and all that entails, however, soap makers have to think way far ahead. Especially me, because as you know, I like my soaps to age before you get them. Makes for a harder bar which in turn lasts longer making for a much better deal for you, my treasured customers!
This one is of course seasonal and smells just like it’s name, all pepperminty like. You’ll be able to get some from Invisible Sun Arts in Cowichan Bay, BC and The Local General Store in Victoria, BC. I’ll also have some with me at both Christmas Craft Shows I’m in this year: Gifts for Myself and Others at the Da Vinci Centre, Nov 19 & 20; and Last Chance Christmas Market at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney on Dec 10 and 11.
Late Summer 2015
It smells heavenly with Sandalwood and Patchouli and it looks great too don’t you think?
By the way, just in case you think I’m using melt and pour kits for these Artist Series soaps, I’m not. They are created using the cold process method and contain the same great natural ingredients as all my soaps. So even though you may be tempted to leave them on display, go ahead and use them up. I promise to make more.
The Kitchen Sink (renamed: The Elminator)
Put it beside the kitchen sink and let it wash away the dinner prep from your hands. I mean really, who wants to smell second hand onion and garlic on their hands?
This new soap in the line is made with coffee, peppermint and rosemary essential oils and is guaranteed to remove cooking smells from your hands. It’s as simple as that.
Under the Sea
We’ve got a brand new, smash hit with “Under the Sea”. The first batch sold out in only 2 markets so I’ve been busy making lots more. Scented with Lime, Lemongrass, and Clary Sage Essential oils and swirled with lovely blues and greens – just like an “Octopus’ Garden in the Shade”.
And in case I haven’t mentioned it before, don’t forget to add a homemade wooden soap dish to your wish list. This cannot be overstated . . . NATURAL SOAPS CANNOT SPEND THEIR LIVES IN A SOGGY SOAP DISH . . . protect your investment and get an all natural “Skeeper” to allow your beautiful soaps to drain.
So excited to have my Artist’s Series for sale at both of these fine galleries. These shops are beautiful places to spend time. If you want a joyous life, surround yourself with things that bring you joy! The artists and artisans works that are on display in these galleries/shops are absolutely joyful, so be sure to visit.
New this season, you’ll save when you buy in bulk. Do you have a favourite soap? Pre-order a minimum of 15 bars and pay only $3.50 per bar. Allow 8 weeks for them to be ready and buy yourself a special treat because you’re so smart with your money!
Watch for me this year at the Goldstream Station Market, Saturday mornings in May and June, and brand new this year, Wednesday evenings for July/August! Then it’s back to Saturday mornings for Sept and October. More details to come in May.
I’m also planning on being at the Highlands Market on the last Sunday morning of each month. Come for the home baking, fresh flowers, lovely jewelry, and the friendly faces of the Highlanders.
Experimentation continued through the month, trying to come up with a foaming liquid soap. Trials and tribulations, let’s just say I have a lot of laundry soap to use now!
However, a breakthrough has happened and I am now proud to announce a lovely liquid foaming soap will be ready for the market season. Photo coming soon, working on a label and pricing.
Beautiful BC- the first soap in the Eagle Creek’s Artist Series makes its debut. See the Soaps page.
Each bar is an original. This soap depicts the best of Victoria with it’s green lawns, it’s sunny skies, its view of the deep blue Olympic mountains off in the distance and
The scent is “Endless Sea” and we’ve added a wee bit of Vitamin E and Castor Oil to the already luxurious list of oils that pamper your skin.
I’ve been busy since the holidays thinking up some new soap designs (see NonScents and Fifty Shades on the Soaps page) and more importantly, doing a little research to make sure my soaps are the best option for my customers. How you ask? Well effective January 1, 2015 all Eagle Creek Natural Soaps will be aged for no less than 8 weeks. This ensures that you get a fully cured (read, no more shrinking) bar of soap that will not only lather better, but will also last longer.
I’ve also been looking into creating shampoo bars for your pooches and liquid soap for your laundry – all natural of course. I can hardly wait to see you all again in May when the markets start up. I’m planning on being at the Goldstream Station Market at Veteran’s Memorial Park – just waiting to hear if there will be a Wednesday Evening market in addition to the already popular Saturday one. Stay tuned!
With a small donation of personal sized soaps in November 2014, Eagle Creek Natural Soaps is proud to support the Victoria Women’s Transition House.
